Recipe Search Engine Gives Any Recipe a Nutrition... →
Let’s say you want to compare the nutritional value of two recipes you have in mind for dinner. You could plug each ingredient into the USDA’s national nutrient database, do some conversion equations to reflect the amount of each ingredient called for, add up the sugar, fat and other health f…

Use command-line Pandora and reduce your CPU...
superamit: If you’re a Pandora fan, but hate flash and the ridiculous amount of CPU it sucks down just playing music on your mac, install Pianobar. All the features of the Pandora website (or Pandora One air app) A few features Pandora doesn’t have (scrobbling) 5-9% CPU usage on my MBP (vs. 15-30%) with flash NO FLASH!!

Finally a way to read feeds that doesn’t make your eyes bleed or feel like a chore. Way to go Feedly. Works with Firefox and for mac Chrome users you have to install the brand new Chrome beta. Totally worth it.

Page load times affect traffic and revenue →
Ah, there’s that thing I read ages ago and keep butchering when I re-tell it. Thanks Amit! superamit: clint: The page with 10 results took .4 seconds to generate. The page with 30 results took .9 seconds. Half a second delay caused a 20% drop in traffic. Half a second delay killed user satisfaction. This conclusion may be surprising — people notice a half second delay? — but we had a...
